About us

The History of J & P Taxis.

In 1988, J & P Taxis was born in small office on the Longbeck Trading Estate In Marske.

Then we had only 2 cars & not much experience within the Taxi Trade.
However, we did have a lot of enthusiasm, which led us to becoming the Largest Taxi Operator in the Redcar & Cleveland Area over the last 2 Decades.

We have steadily grown and now boast over 90 vehicles including a fleet of mini-buses to cater for parties of upto 8 persons.

In 1995 was the start of a major change for J & P Taxis, as we relocated to our present site on Lord Street, Redcar opposite the Police Station.
This move was the foundation for our growth using the town centre to its fullest potential.

Our customer base has enabled us to provide a sharp & efficient service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In 2003 we started provide a more accurate & customer secure service we purchased a Data transfer / GPS system from GPC Autocab for every vehicle on the fleet costing nearly £100,000.

In 2006, We have upgraded this system to included an AutoBook & Online Booking Service to automate the process for our regular customers.
This enables the smooth operation of the workload across the Staff & the fleet via secure data transfer.

In 2007, We introduced CCTV cameras into the entire Fleet, providing extra safety & re-assurance for our drivers & passengers.

See the GPC Autocab Page for more info.

What you have is just our history in brief, but it has to our future goals that matter to our customers.

I can assure you they do & everything my staff do will be for the benefit of you our customers.
